Is running hard?
I'm interested in running, there seem to be alot of people in old ascalon looking for a run to LA, and I'm interested in it
I've hired a runner once before so i get the general idea is it hard? or does it just require a good skill set? any tips would be welcome. thanks xD |

Get yourself equipped with running skills as with all things in GW practise makes perfect , then it's just a matter of learning the fastest route as time = money

It's not hard. Load a bar full of survival and speed boost skills and be on your merry way. Knowing what kind of challenges lay ahead of you on your run helps to know what to bring (hexes, KDs, conditions, large mobs in small spaces, etc). PvX has a list of common running builds used today here.

Knowing the correct route to take and the different mobs you are going to come against is the main thing. First time you try a run, you probably won't make it without dying. There are little tricks you figure out like not running close to Ice Elementals (because they have frozen burst) and which places you can rest at.
As said, getting the appropriate skills obviously makes it a lot easier, but you do still need to know where to start and stop and such. I started off advertising free runs when I was practising. Tell people you might fail and then if you make it you might end up getting some tips. |

Ascalon to LA isn't particulary hard. Only possibly hard part is Iron Horse Mine (with all those KDs and Ice Golems casting Ice spikes), but it can easily be countered with "I'm Unstoppable" and Vow of Silence.

I once did the run from LA to ascalon on my ssin.. It's super easy, it just takes for ever.. I think the run took me ~20 minutes, perhaps more, and it was f*cking boring in my opinion.. But if you like it, go for it^^

I've done a few runs successfully. But I've tried a run from Beacon's to Droknar's in the Southern Shiverpeaks a few times (always with my ranger) and not been able to successfully run it. I can fight my way through, but not run. I'm still learning that one and as I understand it, that particular area is one of the toughest runs in the game.

Also, with the droks run specifically, there are some very nice places you can stop at for a breather. |
